Loloma Lodge Artist Residency 2022
My week, alone at Loloma Lodge in February was like no other. I am so grateful to lodge owner, Wallis Levin, for her generosity in hosting me and my work.
The perhaps meeting of the horizontal lines of the log cabin with the vertical lines of the massive trees outside were the influence, but the experience led me to a period of weaving images together. Pairing old and new, vivid colors with muted greys, and glossy ripped magazines with textured, handmade papers.
Wrapped in the deep quiet of a Pacific NW rainforest, I reconnected with form and line and let stories of love and loss and confusion and hope swirl in and out of the work I created.
