I am Sweet Pea Cole - really and actually. I am a fierce seeker, a spreader of joy, and a proudly awkward artist. I create quirky characters, stories, print goods, and artworks. For more than 20 years, I’ve been a designer, printmaker, collagist, and mixed media artist.
My work pays tribute to the unique, the unfamiliar, the odd, the old, and to the too-often overlooked or forgotten. It celebrates people and things on the edge of, or completely off, the beaten path. I strive to shine a light on ideas, actions, and items that encourage inquisitiveness and instigate joy.
In addition, my past work includes 20 years of community involvement ranging from the Arts and the Environment to social services. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many businesses and organizations such as Bend Design, Bend Film, The Environmental Center, Neighbor Impact, ScaleHouse, Visit Bend, and World MUSE.
Currently, I find inspiration in the early dawn hours that I spend drinking coffee, drawing, and writing. The forests, prairies, and waterways of the PNW deeply nurture me but make only cameo appearances in my artworks.
